How to be Rational Wisely?

You might feel the urge to react emotionally when faced with conflict, but taking a step back can save you from making mistakes. A student nearly got into a fight over negative comments about people he admired. However, reacting with anger wouldn’t have solved anything.

Instead, you should ask yourself:

Is this truly a problem?

Does it affect you or others in a meaningful way?

If so, what outcome do you want? And what actions will actually lead to that result?

Violence rarely changes minds, but rational conversations and logical thinking can. When you learn to approach problems calmly, you’ll make better decisions and avoid unnecessary conflict. [PPH]
